2 Day Hop-On Hop-Off Tour Plus Night Tour

The Big Bus red route seemed to cover a nice collection of sights around the SF area with stops at the Wharf, Pier 39, Golden Gate Bridge among many others. The favorite was crossing over the bridge on the other side to take scenic pictures of the bridge and the skyline along with Alcatraz. We rode the first trip all the way through, with only one hop off after we got over the bridge, which took about 2.5 hours. The app allows you to see where you are and where all the buses are located so you can estimate how long you'll wait for the next bus if you hop off. Another favorite was the blue route bus which is a non-stop one from the starting point to Treasure Island via Bay Bridge which had some great scenic picture opportunities on the other side of where you were on the red route after crossing Golden Gate. However, this side had the sunset added to your pics. Highly recommend stops at Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Golden Gate Bridge and the park, and Treasure Island (Blue route).

Bad service. The buses are very old and dirty. The drivers are poorly educated and drive with one hand, so they can hold the microphone, where they keep giving details of the places where they pass. As I do not have knowledge of English, I had to download an app and buy an earphone to be able to hear in Portuguese, but still the experience was bad, because the route of the bus did not hit with the information of the app. At the stop at Fisherman's Wharf, we need to change a vehicle - which stopped waiting for more passengers. I had already read about the BIG BUS TOUR service that is a good company, but as the Union Square point serves the two companies, I ended up being fooled and buying the pass from this garbage from SIGHTSEEING TOURS. Do not make the same mistake!!!!!!!!

We saw great sights and really enjoyed the hop on hop off flexibility. Once we got the requisite cable car ride taken care of, this tour made it very easy to get to the spots that we wanted to see. The buses were frequent and easy to find, once we knew which bus to take. The only negative I’ve got is that we spent over an hour looking for a bus that said “Skyline” on it and saw none, though we saw tons of the “Big Bus”. Finally, out of desperation, I stepped on a Big Bus to ask if they knew where we could find a Skyline bus and he said “that’s us”! Perhaps this was just tourist ignorance on my part if it would have been nice to have all that clearly explained prior. We would do it again now that we know. After a lot of world travel, SF has quickly taken a Top 5 spot as one of our favorite cities!
