The Mansion was hard to find, it is tucked around other buildings on the Belmont College Campus. Finding a place to park was also a challenge.
When we found the Mansion it was beautiful and well worth the visit. The tour guide who met us was very knowledgeable and friendly and after a brief overview, we went on a self guided tour.
We really enjoyed the mansion and the many period pieces on display.
The gift shop had a nice selection of items on display for sale.
Enjoyed the experience very much.

We chose the guided house tour and we were so glad we did. We learned so much about the history of the family, the area and how the Civil War affected all of it. The mansion was beautiful and our guide, Lydia, did an amazing job answering questions and sharing so much history with us. We were so very glad we took this tour.
As a note: there is a very small parking lot right close to the front door and you just have to register your car online when you enter the house for the tour.

A well- preserved piece of history - albeit the darker side of history. Friendly, enthusiastic guides. Guided groups, however, got in the way of self-guided visitors.
