There are two Chinatowns, one that you see from a van or bus, and the one that can only be experienced on foot in the back alleys, food markets, and local restaurants.
One Chinatown, the one from the bus, is interesting. Our Chinatown will surprise you with new adventures around every corner. In our Chinatown, artisans form Fortune Cookies by hand. In our Chinatown, artisans practice their craft in small alleys using techniques handed down for thousands of years. And in our Chinatown, the authentic cuisine will enliven your senses with new flavors, smells, and aromas.
We'll explore exotic and unique Asian produce, herbs, and teas from the very people who know them best. We'll uncover their hidden secrets only intrepid locals know. And you'll be astonished by the new finds in secret alcoves.
We'll spend about three hours eating everything from Dim Sum, fortune cookies, teas, and more.

Our Chinatown Culinary Walking Tour was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our guide, Isabel, and her knowledge of the history and food in Chinatown. The varied foods were delicious & plentiful and the stop for tea was fun and interesting. Would definitely recommend if you are limited for time in San Francisco. Walking was easy going.

Brian greeted us warmly even though we rushed in to make it on time (not our usual so we were a little stressed). He quickly put us at ease with his humor and quick wit. We were immediately presented with delicious onion rolls - delish!
We were a group of 5 and there was another group of 5 on our tour with us.
Brian led us around Chinatown while regaling us with stories and factoids.
We stopped into the wok shop and other fun places. We sat down to eat Peking duck and dim sum at one restaurant.
Our favorite part of the tour was a stop into Kenny’s Vital tea leaf. We were treated to a sampling of teas brewed before our eyes along with some tea education and lots of laughs. This is something we would never have known to do on our own and so happy we were able to participate.
We did a pop into the fortune cookie factory where we were able to sample cookies hot off the press - like nothing I’ve ever had before, warm and tasty.
We finished off at a hunan restaurant for some chow mein and pot stickers.
Brian’s finale was to serve us moon cake for dessert from Eastern Bakery.
The tour took much longer than we expected but we were so happy for that. Brian gauged our willingness and pace along the way. We didn’t feel rushed and we definitely got our moneys worth! All in all a great afternoon

What a fabulous tour. Our tour guide was Isabella. She was so friendly and informative and led a fantastic tour. On the tour we got to sample many food items from local bakeries and restaurants. Visited a fortune cookie and chocolate shop where we got to sample their products. Also went to a fabulous tea shop where we were entertaining by the very eccentric and unique Uncle Gee. Our whole family enjoyed it (2adults, 13 and 9 year old). A great way to explore China town.
