Maybe it was our expectations that were out of kilter but we expected something a little more wild than a heavy used and well surfaced path in the woodland close to the major hotels.
Our guide, Trinidad, was certainly enthusiastic, we saw a lot of fungi and berries, and learnt about permafrost. (We even had cones thrown at us by a squirrel.) However it wasn't very 'wild' and we reached a certain point and then retraced our steps back to the carpark.
It was certainly a pleasant 3 hour walk but it wasn't a step into the wilds of Denali.
