Our signature flightseeing and glacier landing tour, includes 30 mins of flightseeing and 30 mins landed at 3 Glacier areas including on the glacier itself. This tour includes an alpine landing where you will have 30 mins to see the grand size of the 5 mile wide and 29 mile long Knik Glacier with a birds eye view. Your 2nd landing takes you to a 100 foot ice wall where you may even be able to see the massive ice calve . After 30 minutes exploring you go to the glacier landing right in the middle of Knik Glacier, where you can get out of the helicopter and spend about 30 minutes exploring ancient ice. See the azure blue melt pools (summer), crevasses and ice formations created by water, wind and the sun. During your flight seeing, keep your eyes open for the area wildlife to include Moose, Mountain Goats, Dall Sheep, Bears and even wolf on occasion!   • CHECK IN is 45 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. If you arrive late, your tour may be shortened or rescheduled and additional cost may be applicable.
  • SERVICE ANIMALS are permitted if they are secured in a crate only. Call for specifications
  • Restaurant Service is available on site May 1 - September 30. Snacks are available year round for purchase.
  • WINTER TOURS - October - April -we are unable to land on top of the glacier due to snow cover. We will land next to the glaciers near the massive ice formations
  • Guests 300lbs or over require our Astar Helicopter to fly. This is not available for every time/day.Please call direct to assure we have that helicopter available to accommodate prior to booking.
  • Comfort surcharge applied for anyone over 250lbs. This allows us to block out an additional seat for safety and comfort
  • Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.
  • NOT PERMITTED: DRONES-SMOKING ITEMS (VAPES/LIGHTERS/E-CIG)-FIREARMS-BAGS/BACKPACKS/LOOSE STRAPS - please leave all bags in the vehicle or we do have lockers to store them
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

The tour was awesome, very well planned, on time. We had a very good interaction with our Pilot Zach. We made three stops and we spent ample amount of time at each stop. We had enough photographic opportunities and most importantly we had quite breathtaking views of the majestic glaciers. From start to stop the trip lasted exactly 2hrs. We also learned we can book solo tours (only two people) by paying $500 more and also extend the trip by 15 min more flight time and a glacier stop if paid $700 more. Will surely do that the next time. This was a birthday gift and was on my a bucket list on my birthday itself, and I couldnt have asked for more. Drive from anchorage to palmer was beautiful as well. Very quick drive no issues smooth all together and mother nature also blessed us with beautiful sunny clear weather that day. What a perfect way of celebrating your 40th bday.

Shad was terrific: personable, professional, knowledgeable about the glaciers and area. The opportunity to experience Alaska in this way was incredible. What! Walking on a glacier, up close and personal. Gorgeous, pristine and saw heli skier and mountain goat tracks as well as moose… trio of a lifetime! Thanks Shad for the memories.

Had an excellent pilot, Christen. His knowledge of the area, courtesy, and always watching out for us, was outstanding. Pointing out the areas, distances of the glaciers,etc was very good!
