On this guided day tour you walk onto the unusual terrain of the Matanuska Glacier. You will see and learn about many glacial features such as seracs, moulons and crevasses. Don't forget your camera! Lori was amazing!! Super knowledgeable, attentive and supportive. She was always more than happy to help with making the experience the best that it could be and provided some awesome conversation and commentary. Would highly recommend this remarkable tour. The views are breath taking and the tour guides at the glacier are wonderful. Once at the glacier, the guides provide some gear and extra layers or gloves if needed.

Lori was PERFECT on our trip! Very knowledgeable, snacks, water, great conversation, positive attitude. 1000% would recommend this hike to anyone who wants a hike of a lifetime! Absolutely breathtaking views. Also lunch at the lodge was beautiful

907 owner/operator Lori was full of knowledge, both Alaskan, glacerian (yeah, let’s call that a word), and of the sage variety. Very conversational, patient to provide the best postcard-quality photo ops, transportation to/from people’s lodgings, and I didn’t hear a question that she couldn’t field. The glacier tour, itself, was excellent. The guide was very knowledgeable, and we spent a good amount of time and distance hiking out on the glacier, learning how different parts were carved/shaped/deposited, showing points of interest (crevasses, caves, cones, tunnels, etc.). Yeah, there are other groups out there; and sure, sometimes people—even in your own group—are kind of clueless about others around them and don’t quickly get out of the way for others’ photos. Sometimes that’s just how it is with popular places (definitely not a tour company’s fault!), and an individual just needs to learn how to negotiate those situations to nicely ask people to allow you a turn for your own photos. :) All in all, it was educational, fun, beautiful, and sent my son and me home with lots of fantastic, memorable photos. :)
