This tour provides a wonderful opportunity to view the stunning scenery of the White Pass and the surrounding area with a local, high quality guide. Departure Point: The tour departs from the cruise ship dock in Skagway, Alaska. Guests staying at many local lodgings can be picked up for the tour. Please let us know the name of your lodging.

Cruise Guests:
Meet your guide just past the Skagway cruise pier security gate. They will be holding a sign with the Rainbow Glacier Adventures logo on it.
Hotel and B&B Guests:
This tour departs from in front of your lodging. Watch for the van with the Rainbow Glacier Adventures logo.

    Meet your guide, board the comfortable vehicle and enjoy a short tour of Skagway’s historic district before climbing steeply towards the Chilkoot Mountains.

    The dramatic scenery of the White Pass summit soon surrounds you. This is a wonderland of impressive peaks, azure lakes and stunted forests. The pace is unhurried; you will have ample time to enjoy the view with stops at choice scenic locations.

  • Yukon Suspension Bridge, Whitehorse, Canada
    Past the summit visit the Yukon Suspension Bridge, where you can venture out onto the bridge to get stunning views of the turbulent waters of the Tutshi River below. Learn the about Gold Rush history and the natural history of the area. Walk along the boardwalk and immerse yourself in the miniature world of alpine wildflowers.

  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

One of our favorite excursions away from the cruise ship was the White Pass Train Ride. Spectacular views of Alaska as well as hearing about the history of the Alaskan gold rush. Very interesting and beautiful trip...well worth the money and the time!!

Dale was very knowledgeable and helpful to all of us on the tour. He went the extra mile to show us some wonderful scenery. But watch out, he likes to show you some great scenery and then tricks you by turning around and seeing something even more spectacular. Got some super photos from this tour and highly recommend spending your photo time with Dale.

Dale, our awesome guide, catered the tour to what we (the group) were interested in. We all expressed a love of nature and were inspired by the gorgeous scenery, so he made multiple unscheduled (I believe), stops so that we could get our fill of the incredible beauty. Dale also gave us tips on some cool photo tricks with both our Android and iPhones. Super duper fun time!
