Sagunto is an amazingly interesting place.
We were guided by Sergio who did an excellent job. He is knowledgeable, warm & welcoming and the hours just flew by.
Sergio explained the history of the region and the castle. There is a small archeological museum contains some fascinating artifacts.
The Jewish quarter, as one might expect, does not have much left in terms of Jewish life or artifacts since the expulsion of the Jewish people in 1492. There are the remains of a mikveh that can be seen.
Further up the bill, there are the remains of the Jewish burial areas.
All in all we thought it was very worthwhile & it would have had much less meaning without a guide.
