Mukund showed me around ancient Sarnath for two hours, and helped me arrange a driver back to the airport. He was very knowledgeable about Buddhist history and the different Buddhist schools and taught me a lot. Really recommend!

The Sarnath Buddhist Temple, located 10 km northeast to Varanasi, is a tranquil and ancient famous touristic location abundant with Buddhism’s relics. I recommended you to take a tour guide to gain a deeper understanding about the temple(there are Hindi and English-speaking tour guides at the car park in front of the temple who themselves say that they need not be payed unless you wish to), ours was Mr. Deewakar Singh who was helpful, friendly and walked us through the temple and provided interesting information about the history of the temple and The Buddha. Lush green plants and trees and some unique flowers and fresh lotuses enhance the scenery and beauty of the Buddhist temple.

Eine kurze Tour abends in Varanasi Mitte September 2022. Trotz eines Wetterumsturzes bei der abendlichen Zeremonie haben wir bis zum Schluss durchgehalten. Total durchnässt aber voll neuer Eindrücke dann in unserem Hotel Taj Varanasi eingetroffen. Mit Herrn Mukund hat es wahnsinnig viel Spaß gemacht. AM nächsten Tag hat uns der Wettergott entschädigt und wir konnten viel Neues über Varanasi und Sarnath erfahren, was nicht unbedingt in unseren Reisebüchern Stand. Dieses Wissen konnte uns nur Herr Mukund vermitteln in einem exzellenten Deutsch. Wenn Varanasi und Sarnath, dann nur mit Herrn Mukund!
