Marta was an engaging and knowledgeable guide. My kids loved her. We had a great time at Fornace Venier on Murano. Both kids had the opportunity to blow glass! Once we arrived at colorful Burano, Marta bought Esse Buranello to eat. My daughters enjoyed watching the lacemakers work their magic. Lovely way to spend the morning in Venice.

Our guide not only knew the area, she was greeted by locals that knew her. She was able to tell us about local history, had photos to show, and even gave us local cookies.

We booked a private tour to Murano and Burano. Nikola was our guide for our half day excursion. We started at the Venier Factory. Although others have said the glass making was boring, we could have stayed all day. The glass makers happily demonstrated their skills creating flowers, vases, and horses on the spot. Luca Vidal was working while we were there, and we commissioned a bowl for our living room. We could have spent the entire day there, and would have, but for our stop on Burano. Although others write that Burano is lovely, we found it a bit underwhelming. Nikola was kind enough to purchase S cookies for us—and those were worth the trip. Nikola was a charming guide, who having grown up in Venice, shared information and history that really gave us a better understanding of Venice’s past and present. His knowledge of the history of Venice, its creation, and his understanding of the importance of and development of the lagoon really brought Venice to life.
