    It is estimated that there were 8-10 thousand gondolas operating on the canals of Venice during the 17th and 18th centuries. Today, there are just 400 that are still in active service. Although most of the gondolas are used for touristic purposes, you'll be fascinated by the strong bond they continue to have with the history of Venice. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience Venice "off the beaten track": this 30-minute private gondola ride, which departs very close to the train station, will allow you to explore the most hidden and fascinating canals and monuments directly from the water. Your "gondoliere" will take you to see some beautiful cultural treasures of the city, such as Torres House, Palazzo Gaffaro, the Carmini Church, Palazzo Zenobio, and many other views and perspectives mostly unknown to tourists.  At the end of the ride, the gondola will take you back to Piazzale Roma (next to the train station).

  • Dogs are allowed on the boat and don't count towards the maximum number of people
  • Your gondolier will ask you if you want a commentary during the experience or you can silently take in the sights and enjoy the ride
  • Please note that all tours start and end at Piazzale Roma (near the train station)
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Adamo was our gondolier. He was very informative. he was friendly & very informative. He explained a lot about current day Venetian life. He is a 3rd generation gondolier. He took us some under traveled canals. It was a lovely 90 minute tour. If you can splurge for the longer tour I highly recommend it.

Our gondolier is the reason for the 3 rating. The ride was as promised and the grand canal was very cool to see (but very hot and sunny). The gondolier was 1) on his phone (via his watch) the entire 90 minutes or he was yelling to other people like gondoliers - this made our experience less relaxing and told us our ride was not important and 2) he told us the bare minimum about what we were seeing (such as reading the hotel names clearly posted on the side of the buildings). He was bare minimum.

It not near St Marks Square. You have to take a water bus or water taxi to get to the other end of Venice. The directions on the app were wrong. We were 15 minutes late and we only got a 45 minute tour. A lot of taxis went by and ruined the vibe. It was too expense.
