Our tour guide was Michelle and she was excellent. Extremely prompt pick up at our hotel and the tour started right away with Michelle's amazing story telling. We were riveted the whole time. In the palace we wore headsets and she spoke into a microphone so if we got separated in the crowd we could still hear her. We learned so much and felt like it was just the three of us there even though there were lots of people everywhere. She left us to wander the beautiful gardens on our own. You could tell the workers there knew and respected her and we were able to get through the line ups super fast. This was the best thing we did the entire trip!

The tour started the moment we entered the car from the hotel, it was great. Along with the usual minor getting-to-know-you topics to gauge our level of prior knowledge and interest, we moved right into the landscape and history of Paris and background for the chateau. Our guide (Honoré ?) was perfect, well-prepared and able to adjust with us as the day passed, and he had great technique for creating an intimate space at each exhibit where we could pause and discover very good details about the scene or site history or the work itself while the rest of the crowd moved around us. This tour was early in our time in Paris and all the information really helped tie together the recent 1000 years of Paris for us when touring other sites and works around the city.
