Awesome day out sea was rough but who cares it come n go, seen some whale breaching and tail flapping , lovely view would do it again love it

My husband I recently attended Wildlife Coast Cruise's Wilsons Prom Whale Cruise. What a fabulous day we had. We were originally booked for today, but the forecast was dreadful and the operator gave us the option of changing days. So we moved to Thursday just past, and scored the most amazing day. Blue skies, high 20s, no wind - the ocean was flat and as smooth as silk. We left from Port Welshpool, a lovely little fishing village in South Gippsland. Before too long, we had a small pod of dolphins, including a baby swmming along with us. It was incredible watching them ducking and weaving under the vessel, just playing with us. We passed some wonderful scenery as we cruised along the bottom of Wilsons Prom, and as we approached the lighthouse we found our first whales. Everyone was in awe, madly snapping cameras as the whales duck dived and showed us their magnificent tails. We had more dolphins pods playing along with us too - at one point I counted 7 dolphins swimming effortlessly under our vessel; we even had one swimming along upside down! Such show-offs. We stopped for lunch in a lovely little cove, basking in the sun as we ate our soup and filled bread rolls. Then it was off for more whale spotting. We found a few more, and spent some time in another cover with 2 young whales, and lots of inquisitive seals and dolphins. Only 2 whale breaches, which most of us missed, but lots of tail waving. Eventually it was time to head home, and we quietly cruised all the way back along the Prom and back to Port Welshpool where we disembarked. It was wonderful day, the crew were fantastic, and the whole event was very well organised. I am especially grateful for being given the opportunity to change to day with such spectactular weather. I highly recommend Wildlife Coast Cruises, and looking forward to going on their full day Wilsons Prom cruise over summer.
