Alan was a wonderful guide. He was very knowledgeable about Victoria and excited to share it. We saw many beautiful places. The van was large, comfortable and clean. I would definitely use Surfside again.

The tour was operated by Experience Victoria Tours, Inc. as a cruise ship excursion. As our double-decker bus loaded, Rob the driver/guide emphatically told the lower level riders that the bus had to be kept cool to keep the upper deck comfortable. He advised us to close the vents. The route was interesting and he gave an excellent narration but the bus was FREEZING COLD and he never asked people if the temperature was okay or stopped talking long enough to allow people to voice concerns about the temperature. At the halfway point break EVERYONE told him it was too cold. (He was wearing a sleeveless fleece while some riders were in shorts and T-shirts.) He got angry that people hadn't told him earlier! (Upper level riders weren't allowed to come down to tell him and lower level riders were intimidated by his previous instructions.) He blamed us and told us the tour was now over and proceeded to return to the wharf WITHOUT GIVING ANY FURTHER NARRATION even though we passed the parliament building and the Empress Hotel! He apologized for getting angry as we disembarked, but it was too late. It felt like Rob robbed us!

Alan gave us a wonderful and informative two hour tour of beautiful Victoria. We almost certainly saw more of the city than any of our fellow cruise passengers. We highly recommend the tour.
