This 9-hour personal guided tour is a full action packed day of outdoor adventure at its best. Enjoy a scenic drive past Nanaimo to the Coombs area where you will experience some of Vancouver Island's best scenery. Visit the Englishman River Falls and take a short hike up and down the falls to capture some exciting photos. You'll also stop at the country village of Coombs, the Little Qualicum Falls, and Cathedral Grove, an enchanting rain forest with some of the oldest trees on the island dating back over 500 years old.     We will drive around Chemainus and view the spectacular murals and talk about the history of the town. You will have a chance to walk around 20 min to get some photos and explore the main strip and its unique gift shops.

    We will stop and hike around this majestic old growth forest which is home to some of the largest and oldest trees on the island.

    We will make a quick stop at the lake for some great photos and learn the history of the lake.

    We stop at Coomb's which is home to the famous "Goats on the roof". We usually have our lunch stop here at the Coomb's Country Market, and time is allowed to shop the market after.

Alan was a great guide - personable, knowledgeable and passionate about the beautiful scenery of Vancouver Island. We very much enjoyed his private tour and his company. He picked us up at our Airbnb in his comfortable vehicle. The natural beauty of the area is incredible and I’d highly recommend Alan if you’re looking to explore it.

Alan is friendly and accommodating. He shares interesting information along the drive and hikes. He has a great sense of humor and you feel at ease and relaxed on the drive. We recommend him for a visit on Vancouver Island and Victoria.

A fantastic day on Vancouver Island! Alan was our driver and guide, and he was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and friendly. He took into account our preferences and need to avoid very strenuous hikes. We visited three gorgeous provincial parks with beautiful waterfalls and temperate rain forests, as well as other areas, including Coombs with the famous "goats on the roof" market. I highly recommend this tour if you have a full day to devote to exploring the beautiful area beyond Victoria.
