*This is an off-road bike trip. Riders must be experienced in fully manual bikes with off-road conditions. * Traveling by car or sitting on the back of our motorbike driver is possible. Let us know though added fees will be introduced. Ha Giang city and Hoang Su Phi District are gateways to the outstanding mountain scenery of Vietnam’s extreme north respectively. But the journey between these two mountain districts is just as thrilling as the landscape which lies beyond them. Dramatic scenery, fascinating border towns, ethnic minority markets, and lush farmland abound. This is a route to be taken slowly with experience – there’s hardly a kilometer without a hairpin bend – and with plenty of time to allow for unforeseen circumstances, such as bad weather and landslides, which regularly block the way. This road trip is perfect for riders wanting to do something different and extreme without seeing anyone or any tourists at all.

We will pick you up from ANY accommodation in Ha Giang City. There might be some homestays far from the city if you want us to pick you up, you might need to pay some extra for a taxi.

This tour starts and ends in Ha Giang City. Let us know if you need us to arrange transfers from and to Hanoi, Sapa, Cao Bang, Ninh Binh or Ha Long. Airport pick-up is available with additional fees.

Did the 3D2N trip (on back of driver) with Su and Giang. Su is very entertaining and has good knowledge. Learnt alot about the different ethnic groups and their customs (Hmog/Tao/Red Dao). Both are very experienced riders, and we felt v safe riding in the dark and on bumpy, curvy roads Western Loop is not as popular compared to Eastern Loop, but still great views nonetheless! Accomodation - 1D Tao homestay (v friendly and warm hosts!) and 1D luxe lodge *Would recommend the WL if you prefer somewhere less touristy *Get HGA to arrange the HanoiHa Giang transfer, saves you time and hassle. Most importantly, you’ll be guaranteed a bus seat. (Our bus was overbooked, and some slept along the bus aisle for the whole 8hours)

By the end of the experience I said to myself, “ That’s Vietnam.” You’re immersed in both big beautiful nature and warm welcoming rural people who open up their homes and kitchens to you. We rode easy rider and feel like that was good first trip move so attention could be spent on scenery and staying warm instead of dodging pebbles on the road and oncoming buses. I met another LA person on trip who rode his own bike and first thing he said was that he wasn’t sure how he was still alive. Highest recommendation.

The experience was special from start to finish. Dien and team make you feel welcome right out the gate as they prepare you for the journey. Unfortunately, Mother Nature did not cooperate for the entire 3 day bike trip for us but even with the fog and rain the scenery was spectacular. We both have international license and experience before this trip but Dien and team gave us an extra quick lesson the day before our journey to make sure we are all prepared for Vietnam traffic so even with the wet roads we felt very comfortable on the trip. Dien was part of one of the local minorities in the area so he had a lot of insight into the daily lives of the local people. He was very attentive to all of our needs and spoke very good English.
