Piazza del Popolo, Roma RM, Italy The Tour ends at the Pincio Terrace overlooking Piazza del Popolo. From there it is extremely quick and easy to reach Piazza del Popolo as well as the adjacent Metro stop (5 min walk), but it does require descending a long flight of steps.

    Cardinal Scipione Borghese commissioned both the Villa Borghese itself and many of the great works still on display in its gallery. Works by Bernini, Caravaggio and Titian remain in their original settings, as envisioned by the Cardinal, a fiercely determined collector. Strictly controlled entry to the Villa and Gallery can make booking difficult and complicated. On this fully-guided tour you’ll hear more about Cardinal Borghese’s quest to complete his collection, and the stories behind the artworks themselves, including Bernini’s ‘Apollo and Daphne’, Canova’s ‘Pauline Bonaparte’, Caravaggio’s ‘St. Jerome’ and Raphael’s ‘The Deposition’. Your guide will be an English-speaker and an expert on the collection, and audio headsets ensure you’ll hear every word they say.

    Included in this tour is a visit to the Borghese Gardens: once the Cardinal’s private park, now a favorite spot for locals to relax among sculptures, plants and water features and get away from it all.

Our guide was amazing and she was very knowledgable. She clearly loved the statues/sculptures which were truly amazing. This was the perfect tour for the venue and I’m so glad we didn’t do this on our own.

The Casino Borghese was beautiful. I’d never been in a “gallery” or “museum” where legitimately everything present was art. Even the walls were art. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate.

This is a must see gallery. The collection is amazing and the genius of Bernini is truly visible. The palace and its collection have unique history. Our tour guide Barbara was excellent with the details of the works of art and history of the pope’s in residence. I highly recommend this tour that ended with a walk in the gardens to Piazza del Popolo.
