Our family of four (2 adults, 2 children ages 8 and 12) loved this tour! We only had a couple of days in Oman on a stopover and decided to buy this tour so we could say that we had seen and done something while here. The tour advertised a sand dune safari and swim in a Wadi...but it was so much more than that!
Our guide Juma, picked us up promptly from our hotel. His English was excellent and he answered questions and taught us a few words in Arabic as we drove. Throughout the tour he impressed us with the pride he had in his country and he made us want to see and do more in Oman.
He stopped in a village to show us a natural hot springs and also walked through a mostly deserted ruin of village and Fort. Really interesting.
Following this visit, we stopped at a local sweet shop where we sampled traditional sweets and drank coffee. Juma purchased some sweets for us to have with coffee later in the day.
At Wadi Bani Khalid, Juma offered to take us to a cave if we were interested...which we were. Beautiful hike through the Wadi and it was great to crawl through the cave and see the bats. Afterwards, the water was amazing and so refreshing!
Juma then took us to a local restaurant for a lovely lunch - Fish, chicken, rice and salad - and then to the sand dunes. The sand dunes were so beautiful, especially at sunset, and having traditional coffee, sweets and watermelon on the sand dunes was magic.
This tour really exceeded expectations and made us want to come back to Oman to see more of this amazing country.
