The Quiet Man Film Locations Walking Tour is a must for fans of the John Wayne classic, The Quiet Man. The guided tour brings visitors to the original film locations including Inisfree, Castletown, the Pat Cohan's Bar, the Dying Man's House, the Reverend Playfair's House, the fight scenes, the courting scenes and the "patty fingers in the holy water" scenes. Visitors hear: what happened when Hollywood invaded the sleepy village of Cong in 1951; what the film stars were like; how they interacted with the locals; and how the locals became intimately involved in the making of the movie. The tour includes entrance to The Quiet Man Museum. Visitors can dress up in costume for photos and re-enactments. A great interactive experience full of good old Irish craic. The walking tour and museum entry last approximately 1 hour. The tour consists of a short, easy stroll around the village of Cong with stops every few minutes at the movie locations.

Just wanted to thank everyone at the Quiet Man Experience for a wonderful day in Cong. Cong itself is the most beautiful place in its own right but adding in the QME and the stunning Ashford Castle made for a thoroughly enjoyable day me and my family will never forget! Special thanks to Gerry, our walking tour guide who was fantastic with jokes and unrivalled knowledge about the movie flowing seamlessly.....walking tour is a must and great value or money! I brought my dad to see Cong and the Quiet Man locations. The tour was delightful and enjoyable. Even with the rain! Gerry was funny and I think we had a good group. The building has a lot of props and furniture from the movie as well. The church where you see Kate come out of is on the tour; there are active services there. You can get a map from the gift shop that can show you additional places they filmed for the movie! So that would be worth getting if you have the time!
