We will start by going over the Swedish Empire and the war in which Gustav Adolf had the ship commissioned, what was the purpose of the ship? Who was the enemy during these years? Something happened during the construction and the ship sank, what happened? and whose fault was it? Many years later it was found and salvaged, but this was no easy task. We will go over the engineering project together and show you the maps used in the 19th century to find the location of the ship, and how it was found in the 1950s. Once it was salvaged, a time capsule of the 17th century was opened and many secrets were revealed of how life was back then. This tour is the perfect choice for the ones who want to get a deep knowledge about everything that happened, in and out of the ship. Come full of questions, because we want to answer all of them!

I have to say, I wasn’t all that excited to see an old ship. However, we decided to go after reading how popular it is. We are very glad we went with a guide and Sebastian was fantastic. This ship is incredible and Sebastian brought it to life explaining in great detail how it was built, the not so obvious meanings carved into the ships statues and decorations as well and the life and times of the sailors. His enthusiasm made the tour even more enjoyable.

I had originally visited the Wasa warship back in the 60's when she had only recently been brought to the surface and housed in a specialized environment to protect her. What a delightful contrast visiting her again several decades later. Even though the initial experience with the Wasa was memorable, the recent experience was spectacular! Contributing to this experience was our tour guide, Sophie, who showed incredible knowledge and enthusiastic energy, making our visit so worthwhile. She lived the adventure with great excitement, and her historical account of the Wasa and her explanation of things related to the ship were excellent. Moreover, she had a unique way of seamlessly moving from one point of interest to another. The tour went by all too quickly, and I wish we could have had more time with Sophie. Sophie, thank you so much for the amazing adventure you provided for my wife and me. It was a pleasure to be with you, and I hope that somehow, our paths can cross again.
