Spend a peaceful morning kayaking on this half-day tour of Lake Wanaka. This experience is a fantastic introduction to kayaking, with an easy guided paddle exploring the beautiful Lake Wanaka coastline, enjoying the outstanding scenery. Loved by all new to kayaking, families and the chilled out characters amongst us. You will have 8-10 kilometers of easy paddling with light snacks and refreshments provided. No experience is required and this small-group tour operates in most weather conditions.

Firstly thanks to Austin our tour guide, such a lovely guide and really looked after us all. Our youngest is just 5, middle is 10 and eldest 14 plus us parents and we all had a great time. Do pack a few snacks if you have a hungry bunch as the beach stop is great for a picnic. The weather was perfect and the lake like a mill pond. Beautiful scenery, easy kayaking and just a great morning. Highly recommended and will be back

The team at Paddle Wanaka are easy to deal with and can cater to your needs whether it be a guided tour or you simply want to do your own thing. We highly recommend doing The Tiki Tour if you’re keen to do a guided tour and learn about the area. Depending on the wind direction, you will either paddle from the lakeshore and at the end be picked up by boat, or travel out to your start point by boat and paddle back to the lakeshore. The safety briefing before you set off is very thorough and you’re in safe hands. Our guide Austin was really knowledgeable and we enjoyed the stories he told us about Bull Island and Ruby Island, he shared several Maori legends with us as well. The information about Lake Wanaka and other lakes and rivers in the region was also interesting. We had an afternoon tea stop on Ruby Island before heading back to the lakeshore. The Tiki Tour is definitely worth doing. Thanks Austin and Chris for a great afternoon on the lake.

Fantastic trip, spectacular scenery, informative guide and delicious morning tea at the amazing spot of Bull Island topped off an incredible kayak experience on Lake Wanaka. We meet at Beacon Point and were taken out to Stevensons island by boat, a guided trip on the island before we got into the kayaks for the big adventure back. Tyler was full of Maori legends, local knowledge, and once we got to Bull Island became the guide extraordinaire as he made fresh coffee to order, and The Best Brownies in town. A combination of first trip out since lockdown 4 finished, fresh air, great friends and an amazing company to paddle with. Thanks Paddle Wanaka, you created memories that will last. We will be back.
