The Chapel of Our Lady of Częstochowa is the oldest part of the complex. It's where the miraculous image of the Black Madonna is kept. We were scheduled to go on a group tour of Poland. Czestochowa was not on the itinerary so we went to Warsaw two days early and booked a separate tour through Viatours. Our driver picked us up at our hotel and we took the 2 1/2 drive to Czestochowa to see the Black Madonna which is located in the monastery. our guided tour of the monastery was included in the price of the tour. we were paired up with one other couple for the monastery tour and our guide was one of the monks from the monastery. After the tour, we had lunch nprice not included in tour from Viatour) and retuned to Warsaw Overall good experience.

My family and I are Polish and have always wanted to take the trip to Częstochowa and it was more beautiful than we could have imagined. Highly recommend spending the extra money for your own private car and tour around Jasna Góra. Our driver Peter was absolutely amazing and even got us a reservation for lunch after our tour.
