Set out for a trip to visit Koulen Mountain. This holy mountain is also significant to those who are Buddhists and Hindus. Not only that, Phnom Kulen is known as the birthplace of the Khmer Empire. There are two waterfalls located within this mountain range and a plethora of flora, fauna, rock sites,
Drive through pretty rural Villages, Jungles, Rice Fields, and up to the Koulen Mountain. Then We’ll spend 15 minutes trekking through the village to the Waterfall. There, you may want to swimming and relax.
Next, we’ll visit the Buddhist Pagoda, see the Buddha statues, and people praying, and see the Siva Linga (you may want to pour water on Siva Linga and collect the holy water). You’ll wander through the Temple and climb up to view the Giant Reclining Buddha statue.
We’ll move thousands of Linga River, spend 30 minutes walking along the Riverside, and view hundreds of Lingas carved into the sandstone Riverbed. Enjoy your Lunch at Local restaurants near the Waterfall.

Koulen National Park, Siem Reap, Cambodia Phnom Kulen has major symbolic importance for Cambodia as the birthplace of the ancient Khmer Empire, for it was at Phnom Kulen that King Jayavarma II proclaimed independence from Java in 802 AD. Half an hour drive to the summit of the Koulen Mountain. Visit the 16th century Buddist Temple (Phra Ang Tho), and it was here that King Jayavaraman II declared independence from Java in 802AD. A short climb up a stone staircase leads you to a 17-metre reclining Buddha with views across the countryside. Visit the River of 1000 Lingas, you will see hundreds of lingas carved into the sandstone river-bed. It is said that King JayavaramanII bathed in these waters and believed that the waters were holy.
