Our guide was very good, thorough and willing to answer lots of questions. The tour was good - we saw the village, cemetery, tattoo center, baths and geothermal pools, church. Hopefully, this tribe and the Te Puia group have resolved issues between them so that the whole area can open up to tours again.

It's a living village, with a tour lead by a Maori guide. Ours was knowledgeable and proud of his heritage. The tour is led at pace, but there is time afterwards to explore at leisure. I would recommend keeping up with the guide and then going back to see things in more detail afterwards

We were a bit time poor otherwise we would have loved to have done one of the longer tours.
Our guide was quite young but so passionate. Kept everyone's attention for the whole tour.
