A once in a lifetime opportunity to meet local communities in Namibia. This tour does not visit a 'fake' village; you will meet and interact with real communities primarily the San/Bushmen, Batswana, Damara and Ovambanderu. The real joy of these encounters is learning about these cultures and interacting with the communities, you will be invited to get involved with day to day activities such as milking cows, hunting and gathering, arts & crafts and singing and dancing around an open fire.

We stayed with a San community for a night and they took us out into the desert for a few hours the next day to show us how they found food and hunted. Peter-Hain’s and his assistant, Charles (a cattle herder himself), and the San elders were great guides. We visited the township of Gobabis, that was an experience that will stay with me forever. My favourite memory is sitting under the stars, around a camp fire, singing. Bliss. Namibia is an amazing country and the San/Bushman & Kalahari Cultural Experience gave us the opportunity to meet some of the local people.

An authentic, beautifully personal experience. Even though others canceled and it was just me, Peter-Hain went out of the way to make the experience a once in a lifetime one. Dancing and making jewelry and fire with the Khoi San, tending to the cows on a traditional homestead after being dressed by “Mama”, exploring the Kalahari, eating chicken and pap by the fire, a cozy tent with a mattress, and Peter-Hain’s true concern for his community… wonderful all around and something I will remember vividly forever.
