    This old fort is said to be Windhoek's very first building, and was used by the German army to defend their hold on the city. In more recent times, it was a museum, but now stands empty, however it's rich history still make it worth a visit.

Petrus was a fantastic tour guide and very knowledgable about Namibian history. He made us feel very comfortable throughout the entire tour and answered all the questions we had. I would recommend bringing along some cash so that you can buy some souvenirs if you want along the way, although the lovely art market at the end does take credit cards. My favorite part of the tour was a stop in the meat market at Katutura. I was very skeptical about trying the meat (don't worry - it is optional) but ultimately I took the risk and it was absolutely DELICIOUS with the kapana spice. I think this tour is great and a must-do if you would like to learn more about Namibia! I do wish that we had had time for a leisurely lunch and beer at the last stop!

Thank you heaps for revealing the history and culture of Nambia and Windhoek to us. Petrus is very knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. We enjoyed the experience, highly recommend this tour. It suited us very well as we had a busy schedule.
