    We will have a short drive towards the hilly side of Western Albania and reach one of the best wineries in Albania. Located on the top of the hills, next to a lake with an astonishing view of Adriatic Sea, these vineyards offer one of the most unique landscapes of Albania. The influence of the sun and the Mediterranean Sea make this land a privileged place for the cultivation of grapes. We invite you to enjoy the sun and discover the special wines of this vineyard. The winery is located near the village of Shesh, where the well-known grape variety “Shesh” originates. This Albanian wine variety is known for the production of high-quality wines and their very special fragrance and flavour. Our experience includes a vineyards tour, wine production and preservation process and wine tasting. We will be able to also try some traditional Albanian appetizers while tasting these fine wine varieties.

The excursion worked well. I was alone with a nice and talkative guide and the winery was pitoresque. Driving there was ok and the host at the winery was wonderful. Be careful when booking though. Viator displayed the currency in PLN (Poland) instead of ALL (Albania). So the excursion was another price than I thought since I did not notice the wrong currency when booking...

We don’t normally share reviews but we just had to following our experience to the Vila Shehi Winery for a wine tasting tour. Lovely welcome on arrival to the pick-up point by our driver Altin followed by the journey which included lots of information on Albanian sites and the culture. Altin was excellent and spoke good English and really made the trip a special one. We have been on lots of wine tours including Sonoma, Florence and San Diego and have to say this was the best experience we have had. At the winery we got a tour followed by wine tasting outside in the courtyard and got to try a variety of white, rose and red wines plus an orange wine. The wines were excellent so we bought a bottle of the reserve (our favourite), the rose and a bottle of Raki (we got to try 3 types of Raki too). The wines came with an assortment of cheese, bread and carrots (personal favourite) which went very well with the wine and all ingredients were sourced locally. I can’t share how much we enjoyed this tour enough and would recommend to anyone wanting to go on a wine tasting tour in Tirana. I have no doubt that booking through Choose Balkans and having Altin at the winery helped to make the visit extra special. Thank you Altin and Choose Balkans!

This was a fantastic tour with friendly, informative and welcoming guides. We loved the local element of it being a family run vineyard only 30 minutes from Tirana. Would definitely recommend for a fun afternoon out!!
