This was basically a private tour, as only my husband and I were booked. Sue (if I remember the name) drove us in a van to the Port Hills. It was amazing to see the serious bicyclists ride up that hill. The views from various locations was cool. Then Sue took us to three wineries for tastings. It was a very pleasant time. The wine was very good. I even found a red that wasn’t bitter. We did not see much in Christchurch proper other than to drive by places we should see.

We enjoyed the entire day. The tour guide asked what we had already seen and done in Christchurch and then taylored the city tour based on what we hadn't seen. The vineyards and wine tasting were nice.
Lunch was great. The only downside was that the tour guide never asked if anyone had food allergies. When the meals arrived, they contained a food that 1 person was very allergic to. We had to send back his plate and make it clear that he couldn't eat anything that had come in contact with that food. Because the restaurant was busy, we had to wait quite a while for the new plate of food to arrive.

Fiona did an excellent job of showing us Christchurch and briefing us on the history and current situation of the city. Then came the wine tasting in the Wairapa region: an excellent selection of vineyards where we had time to talk personally with the staff and appreciate the lovely settings, for example the gardens and architecture of some sites. The group was small and lively discussion ensued throughout the tour.
