I came to Delhi on business trip and have free time on Sat. So I didn't want to miss a chance to visit Taj Mahal. However, I am a solo foreign woman here so I have been worried a lot about my security. I asked the travel desk at the hotel I stayed and they have a one day package to Taj Mahal too but the guide is a man so although they guaranteed my security, I still felt uncomfortable. So I decided to search for some packages in viator and stumbled on this special package for a solo woman.
The package which there a lady, Ms.Sonia, coming picking me up at the hotel and travelling along with me until the end of the trip made me feel so comfortable that I could sleep in the car from Gurgaon to Agra lol. I felt like travelling with my besty.
The local guide, Mr.Raj, supported me very nicely. He suggested which corners we would get the best view of photos. He helped me buying the right ticket by the shortest que and explained me about the history of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort in every specific corners very well.
The restaurant they took me to was good in taste, service, not expensive and especially the restroom that there was one staff who was checking before and after using by guests.
The driver also drove safely along the way and again I would sleep again until we reach the hotel.
However, I have a little comments that there was something that made me feel uncomfortable that I didn't feel like buying much but the program itself that took me to the shops. First was inlayed marbles shop. The service was good and the stuff was worth buying though. But I know the nature of Indian's hard selling style so I felt like being pushed to buy. The second shop was handmade woven, leather, scarves. And yeah everything was good but hard selling nature even though I tried to say no. The stuff was expensive that I had to deduct half from gratitude tip for your staff. (lol sorry)
A little bit uncomfortable with the ringing volume of the driver that was too loud and it rang many times on the way.
