Red Canyon River Trips has proudly offered this 7 mile roller coaster of rapids since 1972.On this lower stretch of the Shoshone River you’ll be seeing beautiful scenery,a variety of wildlife,birds,as well as cool historical sites.On the lower stretch of the Shoshone you’ll travel through canyons formed by glaciers carving through the mountains and rock formations created by earthquakes in our area.Enjoy a exciting whitewater adventure as your crashing through the fun class 2 and 3 rapids such as “Colters Falls” and “Little Big Drop”.At Cody Wyoming Adventures and Red Canyon we believe that every exciting adventure should also be a fun filled educational experience as well.You’ll hear fun mountain man tales about Buffalo Bill Cody,Jeremiah Johnston,John Colter and the indigenous peoples that once called this home.Pass by our famous “Buffalo Jump” at sage creek and our very own “Roadrunner Bridge”This 2 hour adventure is perfect for any aged adrenaline junkies+Wild West enthusiasts.

    Red Canyon River Trips at 1:00pm whitewater rafting experience is an exciting adventure for the entire family!We ask our guests to please check in 15minutes prior to your tour.After you’ve been checked in and fitted with a life vest you’ll be on your way for an exciting afternoon adventure.Once you reach the river you’ll be given a short safety speech and will be ready to begin your 7 mile whitewater experience.Our Shoshone River lower 7 tour is approximately 2hrs from start to finish.Most of our rivers are free flowing rivers from snow melt but this lower stretch of the Shoshone is dam controlled and allows for rafting throughout the entire summer.During the early spring season our rivers may run a bit faster so the amount of time on the river may not be as long but you’ll it will be exciting no matter when you come.This tour is approximately 2 hrs long and concludes back at our boat shop at by 3:00pm.

  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • This is Whitewater rafting trip.Normally the minimum age is 2 years old,but during extreme high water times,we have the right to cancel tours for certain ages and physical capability.
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Great experience in Cody. My kids are 8 & 9, and they lived the rafting. The company provided some over-clothes to help repel the water as it was cold (about 60 degrees) … but still worth the experience. Loved the guide - a college student who knew the path and told us about the River, etc. Would do again.

Great time. We liked the white water rafting. Beautiful country side here in Cody Wyoming. We also went to the rodeo which was a great time
