This is the ideal place to visit if you are looking for a peaceful and less crowded national park for safari. Lunugamwehera also known as the block 5 of Yala national park has many scenic locations around the Weheragala Reservoir. You can see many birds and animals during your visit and highly recommend a safari here as you can experience wild life without any disturbances.

    We are one of leading tour service provider in Yala Since 1984. Park Gate is opens at 6 AM and we are ready to drive then. First Try is to get in to the park as one of first Jeeps. That will give us maximum opportunities everyday. Early morning first 2 hours and the day end last 2 hours is the golden hours for the leopard spotting. Therefore we will not waste our time with the common animals or birds within this time. After this Golden Hours we will change the driving style in to explaining process and stop by every single thing we see on our route. We had a tour booked in the morning for 4 hours. Everything was pre-booked for the subsequent onward journey. We were put in a jeep in which there were already four participants who had booked a 7-hour tour. The answer to our oral complaint: "There is no solution"! There was no reply in writing to our text. Instead of 10am we were dropped off at the hotel after 11am. Breakfast was no longer possible and we had to pay our driver the Waiting time. Probably saved an extra jeep this way!

We got lucky — leopard within the first 30 minutes! After that it was elephants, crocs, buffalo… it just kept going. The guide didn’t rush us, which I really appreciated. A bit crowded near the popular spots but that’s normal I guess.

That was an amazing tour when ever I had in my life. We saw a lot of animals. They can be described as leopards, elephants, birds, and etc. Infact, jeep driver explained all the animals names and behaviours for us. We got a lot of informations and knowledgeable facts in this tour. Literally, this is the highly recommended safari jeep tour in Sri Lanka.
