    We arrive at Wensleydale’s most famous landmark, the 14th century Bolton Castle which once housed Mary Queen of Scots, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy and photograph the magnificent views over Wensleydale, learn a bit about the history of the area from your Guide, or just have a leisurely Yorkshire Brew in the medieval castle’s Tea Room – the choice is yours!

    We arrive in the traditional Dales village of Kettlewell, made internationally famous in 2003 as the main filming location for the Calendar Girls movie.     Finally, there will be a short stop in ​the charming little town of Pateley Bridge, category winner in the Great British High Street Competition in 2016, where you have the option to visit “The Oldest Sweet Shop in the World” (2014 Guinness Book of Records). We leave Pateley Bridge and head back to York.

Mark was our driver and guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly guide showed us some spectacular locations. If you are visiting York, don't miss it. It is highly recommended that you take this tour with Mark.

It was wonderful, our guide and driver Mark was excellent with all the information needed. I didn't want to leave York without visiting the Dales!

We went on this tour Wednesday, October 30. Our driver was Mark, and he was very informative and patient and kind and made sure we had fun! Because we were a smaller van, Mark took us to a few places off the beaten track. He really did go above and beyond! The views were stunning and we all learned quite a bit about life in this national park. All stops were just enough time and the Wensleydale creamery is a must do - complimentary cheese tasting and a great lunch spot.
