    Your full-day tour begins at your Zhangjiajie accommodation between 7:30am and 8pm, when you’ll board an air-conditioned vehicle destined for Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park. Following 20-60 minutes drive(depends on where your hotel is ), you’ll arrive at the Tianmen Mountain, with the main peak of 1518.6 meters (4982.3 feet) high. The world marvelous scene called Tianmen Cave, meaning a door to the heaven in Chinese, makes this mountain famous. The comparative plat mountain top, the well-preserved original forest, the rare plants and species, the natural bonsai in everywhere form into a splendid picture. People entitle this mountain as the most beautiful flower garden in the sky and the fairy land in the boundary of heaven take the Tianmen Mountain Cableway — one of the longest in the world — towards the summit of Tianmen Mountain. Once at the top, gaze at panoramic views of The Tianmen Mountain . If you can overcome your vertigo, walk over the Skywalk, a glass pavement that overhangs the mountain slope..Then hike down the 999 steps or take the escalator at an additional cost at 32rmb/person ,before go back to your hotel , A sample Chinese tea and admire sandstone paintings made with colored materials and portions of plants. Your tour concludes with hotel drop-off at around 5pm.

I booked the tour and was pretty excited for it but was than given noticed that the day I paid for was no longer available. I ended up going to the Tianmen Mountains alone without a tour or guide and did the same itinerary, you don't really need a tour for the mountains unless you have kids or are with elderly members just to accommodate a more comfortable path. The price was good for the tour though which is why I had booked it.

This is a great one day tour. We went up via bus - the 99 turn road is listed in the 10 most danger est roads in the world. Next is the 999 steps to the hole - I chickened out and took the escalators(5) cut inside the mountain to the level of the hole. I was just in time to see my wife complete the 999 steps. Together we then traveled up a further 7 escalators to the top. Around the top - mostly on a track built on the side of the mountain - some glass but mostly concrete - then back to the cable car for a 7 km ride back to Zhangjiejia.

Amazing views from the top of Tianmen Mountain. I arrived taking a train from Changsha and buying my entrance in the cable car ticket office. Once on top of the mountain, I followed the path and walked through the 3 sky walks. In the end of the way, passing through the cave I descended to the bus station to take the bus which took me back to the start driving the 99 bends road. Amazing day!!!
