"Zistwar Dité" has been designed to offer you a unique experience. This excursion allows you to follow the path of the tea pickers in the heart of one of the oldest tea plantations in Mauritius, then to visit the Tea Factory and the Domaine de Bois Chéri Museum. You will have the chance to learn traditional picking techniques and all the stages of tea production. The visit continues with a tea tasting offered in the Chalet du Domaine de Bois Chéri which overlooks the Lac des Cygnes. A tea-based meal is then served in the Bois Chéri Restaurant offering a panoramic view of the south coast of the island.

Full day tour for a maximum of 8 hours, inclusive as from pick-up and drop off at the residing location. Any additional hours will be charged at a supplement rate per hour, payable directly to the driver. Pick-up and drop-off in a chauffeur driven, private air-conditioned vehicle.

    Bois Chéri is the first tea plantation in Mauritius dates back to 1892. A guide will lead you through the factory and the tea plantation, offering you to discover the history, stories and tales of the Bois Chéri and the importance of tea productions in Mauritius. After the guided tour of the tea factory, you will visit the tea production museum learning more about the history of tea in Mauritius. The Bois Chéri offers a great panoramic view of the south of the island. A Tea-based meal is served in the Bois Cheri Restaurant. Nowadays Bois Chéri produces a new range of flavored teas, green teas and herbal teas. You may taste them during your visit.

  • DRINKS DURING LUNCH: Ochéri spring water, Bois Chéri tea or coffee.

  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Great working tea plantation with separate tea tasting venue. Even though we were unable todo the full tour due to no electricity after the cyclone, the tea museum was open and very interesting. We then went for the tea tasting further up the road and what a spectacular setting for a very nice tea tasting session. Lovely staff to facilitate, although possibly a bit of background info with the tea and processes should have added a bit more to the session.
