This cooking class with Mama Nina and her childhood friend, Miqel, who helped with translation, was the highlight of our trip to Albania! We had a private cooking class in a beautiful rustic setting within Berat castle, just me and my husband.
We started off with raki, a local homemade liquor. Then we got to cooking!
We chopped eggplants, onions, garlic, peppers, fresh parsley and dill and sauted in the outdoor kitchen. We made qofta (meatballs) from ground veal, and an Albanian dish called ferges.
Each dish was full of fresh flavor. A delight for all the senses!
The view was breathtakingly gorgeous! This should be part of everyone's experience in Albania!
