Antigua Sky High-Abenteuer

We booked this trip last minute as we had an extra day in Antigua. The ATV’s were so much fun and the few locations/view points were beautiful. Our guide, Sergio, made sure we had a wonderful experience and spoke both English and Spanish very well. He was always offering to take photos for us and had so much knowledge about the area to share. At the end of the tour you go to a avocado farm that also has a restaurant. The restaurant has some of the freshest food we’ve ever had, and was a highlight of our trip. Dietary restrictions are understood well at this restaurant, and both vegan/vegetarian and gluten free items are marked on the menu. We are so glad we had the extra day to book this experience.

Ich liebte alles an dieser Tour, aber vor allem meinen Reiseleiter Edgar! Ich war der Einzige, der sich an diesem Tag für die Tour angemeldet und angeboten hatte, umzuplanen, aber Edgar war mehr als bereit, mich auf eine private Tour mitzunehmen. Er ist ein wunderbarer Guide und machte den ganzen Tag zu etwas Besonderem. Er sorgte dafür, dass ich mich jederzeit wohl fühlte, teilte Fakten und Geschichte, die jeden Ort für mich zum Leben erweckten, und machte Fotos und Videos (einschließlich der berühmten Hände in Altamira), die mir die Reisegesellschaft am selben Tag per WhatsApp schickte. Er gab mir sogar eine Essensempfehlung, die am Ende meine Lieblingsmahlzeit in Antigua war. Ich kann ihn gar nicht genug empfehlen. Buchen Sie diese Tour und fragen Sie nach Edgar, Sie werden es nicht bereuen!

This was an amazing tour, with some of the best views, photo ops, and just overall excitement of driving the ATVs in Antigua and the surrounding mountainous region. Dorian was our tour guide, and he did a wonderful job of making sure we stayed together as a group and that we overall felt comfortable despite some challenges during our tour. Thankfully, our group was small, because I would not have been as comfortable had our group been larger, as some vehicles cut in and separated us during the drive. Cerro de la Cruz did not disappoint, with amazing views of Antigua and amazing photo opportunities. Alta Mira was our second stop and was my favorite stop. The views were celestial and they had an abundance of spots to take great photos. I absolutely loved the sculptures and eco art, along with the many inspirational and thought-provoking quotes throughout the park. There are places to just hang out and get food there as well. I am afraid of heights, but I overcame my fear to walk out onto several of the "hands" (and Jeffrey the giant) protruding from the side of the mountain for amazing photos. The only drawback about Alta Mira was the climb back up to the entrance. You have to climb back to the top after seeing all of the attractions, and it is a doozy of a climb. This is not a tour for those who are not physically able to climb multiple flights of stairs and climb hills. Our last stop was the Earth Lodge and was the perfect end to a beautiful tour, with additional gorgeous views, a menu with delicious and healthy choices, and a beautiful place to just relax after all of the mountain climbing! The walk back up from the Earth Lodge to our ATVs was also challenging though, but doable. I would highly recommend this tour, but please know that there are risks to driving ATVs on dirt roads, cobblestone, and with other vehicles while driving up and down winding mountain roads, and that you have to be physically able to climb many steps and steep inclines.
