An elaborate and fascinating exterior is a taste of what is to come as you wander up and down and around various rooms of the Gaudi home. The themes of light and water as well as sea life are everywhere with ornate decor and furniture showcasing the magic of Antoni Gaudi. The audio guides are essential for each of the main rooms and their purpose and decorations to understand. Lots of interesting information delivered at a good pace. I did wish I had headphones as opposed to the handheld device.
The house is well managed with timed ticket entries and different tickets with options to see more. It can obviously be very busy so photos are difficult and some narrow areas too make it difficult to move about. Still it is a feast for the eyes and escape from the modern world outside. The outside courtyard is a highlight as is the staircase. A gold ticket offers more rooms to see. I only had the standard ticket which I felt did enough.
The tour ends with a light show in a mirrored room by a modern artist influencing Gaudi. This was a cool little extra before the gift shop, which had some nice things.
