Paid extra for the Gold tour, it was well worth it - you skip the longest lines and get access to parts of the house that other tours do not. You also get a special iPad that shows views of each room "as it was" when the family lived there in the early 1900s. It's an individual audio guide so you proceed at your own pace. The house, its decor and restoration are amazing; I would have liked a little more information on the family who lived there, and WHO are the people who lived there subsequently and changed (ruined?) the decor so it had to be restored? The roofdeck bar was a nice place to stop for a drink. The final section in the cube room with the light show was odd - nothing to do with the house, we found it somewhat gratuitous. We've been to Barcelona many times and never visited Casa Batllo, glad we did on this trip.
