Unfortunately, we were really disappointed with the tour. Instead of the 1.5-hour guided hike we had booked, we only got a 20-minute walk through a forest. Our guide told us this was due to a tree that had fallen during Storm Darragh, which apparently made it impossible to park at the original starting point. However, he also mentioned that the original hike would have only lasted 50 minutes anyway. It also seemed a bit strange to us that the effects of a storm from December 2024 would still make parking impossible nearly four months later.
We were then dropped off at Powerscourt Estate to somehow pass the remaining time, where we had to pay an additional €10 entry fee per person. At Glendalough, we were also just dropped off with no real additional information about the site or anything resembling an actual guided tour. We actually ended up joining a monastery tour run by another company — shoutout to Ian from Wild Rover Tours!
Overall, it felt more like a taxi service than a proper tour.
