Grenzen überschreiten: Tijuana Tagesausflug ab San Diego

Victor was the best. He knew a bunch about Tijuana and made sure to answer all of our questions. He was very nice, funny and helpful and I had the feeling to get a good feeling of the city.

Last minute change in meet up location (meh), so much history in the city that I still don’t know anything about (huge disappointment), but a fun experience none the less. Great food, fun drink options and tour guide Alex was current.

This was such an unfortunate tour, because it could have been amazing! The agency reached out after 9pm the night before the tour to inform us that they were changing the tour debarkation to the Mexico side of the border. We made it to the new meeting spot just fine, but most of our group struggled to find it or never got the change of plans. The tour guide, Alex, was horrible!! Alex was indifferent to the group, often playing on his phone and stopping to talk to his friends along the way. He offered no pertinent or interesting information, and generally walked 10 paces ahead of the group the entire time. The only thing he spoke about regularly, and with passion, was his own tour company, different than the one we’d booked with, why it was so much better, and why tours booked directly through him would be much better than the one we were on. I’ve never felt like such a burden on a tour before in my life. We did not get everything the tour was supposed to provide- we received 1 piece of candy, 2 tacos (at the same location) and 1 nonalcoholic beverage. We were told anything else was to be paid for by us. My mother and I left early, after about 3 hours, when Alex told us the rest of the tour would consist only of shopping and transportation back to the border crossing, and that if we didn’t want to shop our options were to “wait for the group or call an Uber.” Prior to us leaving we all stopped for a drink at a bar where Alex spent the entire time talking to the staff in another room, and then put his beer on our tab. Tijuana looked amazing and like a place we’d love to revisit- just not on this tour!
