During a recent trip with a layover in Helsinki, we chose to spend our waiting time at the Plaza Premium Lounge, and despite the lounge being extremely busy, our experience turned out to be truly memorable thanks to the extraordinary service.
Three things really stood out to us:
1. Compassion under pressure: The lounge was packed, and guests were queuing for seats. That’s when we met Sam, who noticed we were traveling with kids and stepped in to help. Despite the chaos, she found a seating solution that worked for our family and made us feel truly valued. It wasn’t just about finding a place to sit—it was about the care and attention she gave us in a stressful situation.
2. A team that worked like clockwork: We observed firsthand the pressure the staff were under due to the lounge being overbooked, but the way they handled it was nothing short of impressive. Haithem, managing the front desk, was calm, composed, and efficient. The entire team worked like a well-oiled machine, coordinating with each other to ensure things moved smoothly.
3. Thoughtful hospitality: Even amid the busyness, we were treated with kindness and respect throughout our stay. It didn’t feel transactional—it felt like they genuinely cared about making our time at the lounge comfortable.
