It's an unique experience to visit a cave formed from the remains of a lava river.
Went during spring, and the interior temperature is around freezing temperature.
The guide was very friendly and informative. There isn't much of a trail. Most of the path is on either wooden or metal platforms, so it's a relatively easy walk, although one should not have mobility problems as it requires some light climbing.
Guides provide hard hats with heads-up lights, shoe chains and trekking poles.
The geological history of the cave is amazing and the views are otherworldly.
Although the whole experience felt far less than one hour and the path inside the cave is relatively short. It's more of a beginner's excursion.
It takes 3 hours roundtrip on a small bus from the BSI station to the cave and back.
