When we first planned our tour of Tanzania, we considered Costco Travel. However, its rigid schedule didn’t align with ours, so we decided to explore local tour groups—and we’re so glad we found The Lion King. Ms. Caroline Ngowi was instrumental in helping us design a custom itinerary that not only accommodated our schedule but also reflected our interests. For example, we were keen to witness the Great Migration, and Ms. Caroline suggested staying two nights in the western Serengeti. We traveled in late June, just as the herds began their migration in the western Serengeti.
When we received the itinerary and quote—which turned out to be lower than Costco Travel’s—we were impressed by the efficiency of the arrangements and chose to go with The Lion King.
After Lion King Adventure received our payments, we were transferred to Ms. Florida who working on the reservation and logistics team at Lion King Adventure. Ms. Florida answered in details to every question from us, update the itinerary with any optional activities we chose, which we are very satisfactory.
The trip exceeded our expectations in every way. From arrival to departure, Lion King guides were always by our side. The accommodations were new, clean, and surprisingly mosquito-free. The food was excellent—especially the cooked vegetables, which were consistently flavorful and fresh.
The safari game drives were absolutely unforgettable. Our guide and driver, Osi (Oswald Shayo), was incredibly knowledgeable about the parks and wildlife. Thanks to his many “brothers from different mothers,” he was constantly in communication about where to spot elusive animals. He also had a knack for positioning the Land Cruiser SUV precisely in anticipation of animal movements. We had close encounters with elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, buffalo, hippos, baboons, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, rhinos, eagles, vultures... The list goes on and on.
Our Tanzania adventure was, without a doubt, one of the best trips we’ve ever taken. We wholeheartedly recommend it. If we had to add one disclaimer, it would be that the roads in the parks are unpaved. While the bumpy rides weren’t particularly tiring for most of us, anyone with back issues may take this into consideration.
