Great class with Shir! I met her at coffee shop, walked to market. She told us some history and lots of info about the market and food stalls. Purchased a few items, walked to her apartment and she had prepared ( premeasured flour into bowls) ingredients to make the pastry. Along with a booklet for the recipe. ( both metric and imperial measurements available). Our group of 5 learned about Matte and experienced that ritual of preparation and drinking the tea on her lovely balcony. Shir was very informative and wanted to share the culture, so open to questions! Made the dough, fillings, everyone able to participate. Also made pancake to be filled with dulce de leche for dessert. She served wine and a tray of meat and cheese while we needed to wait for fillings to cool before we could make the empanada. Shir’s instructions were great! I even learned how to flip a pancake in a pan- it’s all in the wrist. Wonderful day, great company, met some lovely people. I highly recommend this class.
