Snorkelling in Nusa Penida - Manta Point

Excellent tour seen 3 big mantas. Everything promised was delivered. Arya was a sensational snorkeling guide. Very happy would do it again.

Family of 4 snorkelers (with 2 children - 11 years old) booked from this add expecting to get what advertised which clearly stated - Snorkelling in Nusa Penida to see Mantas maximum 4 travellers (listed twice in the ad) on a high powered boat. When arrived we were told we would be on boat with additional 4 SCUBA divers. Complained to owner. He denied ad, then when I produced screen shots post trip he gaslighted, bullied and belittled me. Refunded $100US but he blamed that is was a TripAdvisor mistake. We didn’t see Mantas, didn’t even go anywhere near the bay where they are.We were casually told before we got on boat that we might not go to Manta Bay because of weather even though it was the clearest, bluest calmest day. Later found out from crew that the hadn’t been able to get into the bay with Mantas for about 10 days because of the time of year, we believe they knew before we left shore. Instead we saw a dead coral reef, a reef so polluted that we couldn’t swim without being tangled in garbage. We waited around on the boat for hours doing nothing so that divers could rest (SIT) between dives. At one point we were left in the water by ourselves for about 20mins with only the guide and one life ring while the boat took the divers to another spot. We couldn’t even see the boat . Worst $600US ($942AU) every spent. Don’t book with TripAdvisor or Neptune. If you don’t get as advertised they will try to blame, bully and humiliate you and deny any responsibility or ignore you. I have asked both companies for full refund but they refuse to accept fault in the advertising. Go with a company that specialises in snorkelling not diving. Ask lots of questions directly to the company including at least 2 days days out about the Mantas. Could have been the snorkel of a lifetime - so disappointing .

We had an excellent trip with Neptune Diving and managed to see many manta rays and turtles. Our guide was warm, friendly, and very willing to accommodate our lack of experience. He was just as pleased as us to see manta rays, even though he must've seen them hundreds of times! The day was slightly longer than anticipated as we were out from 7:30 until 16:00. The dive center was really nice and tea/coffee/juice were provided free of charge both before and after the trip, along with sea sickness medication which was strongly recommended.
