We would like to share with Tripadvisor users our bad experience with the TOUR OPERATOR GIVER which organizes cruises on the
Danube.
We wrote to them two weeks ago about these grievances but got no reply.
We are the group of 10 people who took with you the cruise on the Danube from 27/12 to 2/1/2025 with the motorboat Vivienne. (4* S)
We decided to write you these few lines in addition to the questionnaire that you find attached to point out our experience of the cruise.
First, however, allow me a few brief clarifications:
The Giver staff led by Mrs Sara was very efficient and followed us both inside and outside the ship in a very good and punctual way.
What did not work in our opinion we can summarize in 3 points
1. we bought a cabin on the upper deck (the best available apart from the suites) and when we arrived in Vienna where we spent 2 nights and 3 days we were joined by another ship, with the result that at 40 cm we had the wall of the other ship and we were completely darkened and so tell me what the French balcony and the view is for.
2. The restaurant both as a service and as a menu was an embarrassing little thing. An example on all , for a week including New Year's Eve dinner to choose from the sheet with crosses between 2 dishes (never seen anywhere) the variations were either caesar salad or grilled chicken breast. On the last evening at the bar they started packing the glasses and putting away the bottles with still the presence of guests as on the morning of January 2 the crew had to leave the ship and therefore had little time.
3. The animation completely and qualitatively unacceptable, so much so that we got to be able to use our table even after dinner, not to necessarily hear what was proposed in the party room
Now I wonder, are these services as you wrote by 4S given the expense of about 3,000 euros per person for 6 days?
We have been traveling for more than 30 years and we have never had services of this kind.
We close by saying that we would like these comments to be useful to you to improve your services and to other people to avoid the inconvenience we experienced.
As far as we are concerned, the experience with Giver ends here.
