The good:
Our guide was an archaeology professor who was very passionate, knowledgeable and willing to share.
Water & AC were provided in the van.
The ruins are majestic and worth the trip.
The bad:
$40 extra per person for pickup at our resort ($240 seems excessive)
The provided "lunch" was not offered until 17:30; 10 hours after our excursion began! During the latter part of our Coba visit, everyone was getting hangry.
The food was not the specified buffet, but rather a chicken thigh/leg seasoned & boiled, served alongside 2 slices of cucumber and 3 tomato slices. Tortillas were brought out later.
The Cenote may have been appreciated between the two ruins visits to cool off, but being at the end of the day--we were just ready to get back to our resorts for dinner. It was nothing special.
