    These Mayan ruins were once an important ceremonial center for the ancient Mayan culture and are now a “must do” tour when visiting the Yucatan Peninsula. An expert guide will lead you on a journey through the main structures of Chichen Itza like the Pyramid of Kukulkan, the Ball Court and the Temple of a Thousand Columns. The main building is the Kukulkan Castle, known as The Pyramid. It is an icon of the astronomical, architectural, mathematical and engineering knowledge and, together with the platforms, they tell us about the past, with their many sculptures and representations of feathered serpents and Chaac masks, the majestic god of rain that lives in the sacred cenote. Other places like the monumental Ball Game, The Astronomical Observatory, also known as The Snail and the area of The Church are worth admiring, thanks to their masks from the Mayan classic period. The good: Our guide was an archaeology professor who was very passionate, knowledgeable and willing to share. Water & AC were provided in the van. The ruins are majestic and worth the trip. The bad: $40 extra per person for pickup at our resort ($240 seems excessive) The provided "lunch" was not offered until 17:30; 10 hours after our excursion began! During the latter part of our Coba visit, everyone was getting hangry. The food was not the specified buffet, but rather a chicken thigh/leg seasoned & boiled, served alongside 2 slices of cucumber and 3 tomato slices. Tortillas were brought out later. The Cenote may have been appreciated between the two ruins visits to cool off, but being at the end of the day--we were just ready to get back to our resorts for dinner. It was nothing special.

Very nice trip in Coba, chichen itza, cenote. Staff very friendly and good lunch break. I can recommend it and I would do it again
