We will start the tour with a delicious welcome drink prepared with the fresh fruits of the area. Our guide will highlight the main objectives of the farm, which include the promotion of the sustainable use of natural resources and preservation of Costa Rican customs and traditions. After this warm welcome, we will get to try milking cows by hand. Anyone can participate in this experience, especially the little ones. Next, we will participate in the process of extracting cane juice and have the opportunity to taste the juice with combined with a variety of ingredients such as liquor, peppermint, and other products obtained from the farm. We will visit a small archaeological ranch where we can observe different indigenous pieces and use them in the creation of artisanal cocoa. At the end of the tour, we will share a lunch made with farm-fresh products such as cheese, tortillas, hash, and more. Undoubtedly, this is an experience full of culture, tradition, and Costa Rican customs.

There were so many features to this activity that were special: the organic farming methods utilized; explanations about all the medicinal uses for the expansive variety of herbs grown; the incredible taste of raw milk; processing of cocoa from cocoa pods to chocolate; how their farm animals are largely 'rescues'; the 'start to finish' process of distilling the local spirit; a delicious lunch ...... this is not an easy life and we left having much respect for this family and what they are doing to maintain and restore their environment. Thank you, EccoTerra and Costa Rica Vacations for this Activity!

Wir haben den kleinen ökologischen Bauernhof besucht. Die Familie hat uns sehr herzlich empfangen. Wir haben dort einen wunderbaren Vormittag mit Kühe melken, Tiere streicheln und füttern, Zuckerrohrsaft auspressen, Schokopralinen machen und Schnaps brennen verbracht. Am Ende haben wir sogar ein bisschen in der Küche mitgekocht und alles gemeinsam am großen Tisch gegessen. Es war köstlich und sehr herzlich. Eine wunderbare Erfahrung und Empfehlung.

The family was amazing- So loving and welcoming and humble. Our driver, Gabriel was wonderful too. We went with our 4 kids, aged 4-16 and all of them loved the experience. We got to milk a cow, feed the animals, learn about native plants, prepare a traditional meal, and share our time with the best people. Absolutely recommend.
