Our driver was on time and pleasant. The van was newer, clean and air conditioned. I highly recommend this option over renting a car so that you can take in the sights and not worry about driving on narrow, winding roads!

Jacamar drove us 4 times around Costa Rica throughout our trip. The first drive was from the airport to La Fortuna, which despite being a long drive, was quite lovely. The driver knew an amazing breakfast place that we stopped at, which was perfect for coming off the overnight flight. He told us ahead of time when the road would get windy, and pointed out landmarks, places to eat, and things to do. Our second two drives were to and from parks, and the driver helped us decide which to go to when we got confused, and picked us up when we were done quite quickly. Finally - we drove back from La Fortuna to the airport, where the drivers were both quite friendly and helped us practice our Spanish.

We hired a private driver from San Jose to La Fortuna. And I’m so happy we did! The road to La Fortuna is very curvey and due to the time the fog was super dense. And Al our driver made sure we got there fast and safe. Anyone thinking about renting a car vs hiring a driver. I would highly recommended a driver. They know the roads and how to handle the dense fog. It was so thick we could not see. Thanks Al again!!!
