We had an okay day, not a great one. Lots of room for improvement:
-The pickup was more than half an hour later than communicated.
-The gear is really bad. A snorkel without mouthpiece was first handed to my girlfriend. With her second one the mask turned out to be leaking and no spares were available on the boat, which is unacceptable when you're selling a snorkle tour. Our fins were way too rigid and floated so they were very uncomfortable to use. The straps on mine were on their last mile as well. So be sure to check your gear as much as you can before going on board or preferably bring your own.
-The time given on the first stop, Giftun island, is 40 min. There were no specific activities on our part of the beach except for some sunbathing, swimming and snorkeling albeit for a very short time.
-The second stop, snorkling, was nice, but a briefing about the reefs and the marine life would have been nice. Some instructions to everyone to be careful with the sensitive marine life would have been a good idea as well.
-Lunch was okay.
-Just before the second stop we saw dolphins which was nice though I wished the boats wouldn't have been so loud about it. The poor creatures were honked at likely causing them stress. On the second snorkling location the coral unfortunately looked pretty pale.
-I saw people throw their cigarettes in the sea, which could've been avoided if there had been some briefing at the beginning. They had a sound system on the boat that was hooked up to a cell phone. Just let someone who speaks English prerecord a briefing once and play it every time at the beginning of the trip. Easy...
-I also saw a crew member throw a plastic cup in the sea, which to me is unacceptable.
-The crew was friendly and the free drinks were nice. The pushiness for or demanding of tips at the ending is annoying.
-There are no pictures/dvd available at the end (none were taken either). We didn't mind, but some people might.
Hopefully these pointers can help the organization and the future clientele.
